ABOUT THE FOUNDER

RUY MIYAGAWA

At age 10, Ruy left Japan for Spain to pursue his dream of professional football. He spent six years training in the environment of Atlético Madrid, competing in Spain's football system before returning to Japan.

After graduating from Keio University (SFC), he founded StayDream Group to help young players pursue football abroad — just as he once did. Today, StayDream has helped 13 players sign professional contracts across Spain, Germany, Australia, and Korea.

Now, he's opening the door in the other direction — bringing the world's young talent to experience Japan's extraordinary football development system firsthand.

Football is becoming borderless, and the era when players develop solely within one country is over. The best players of the future will be those who've experienced multiple football cultures.

FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS

Most Asian countries (Thailand, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, etc.) have visa-free agreements with Japan for stays up to 15–90 days. Chinese nationals require a short-stay visa — we can assist with invitation letters and itinerary documentation.

No. Training sessions are conducted in Japanese — just like they would be for any local player. That's part of the experience. Off the pitch, we provide English-speaking support for coordination and daily life.

No. We accept solo participants from age 10. We coordinate accommodation, transfers, and daily schedules so your child is looked after throughout the stay. Parents are welcome to come along, but it is not required.

Overseas travel insurance is mandatory for all participants (we can help you find a suitable policy). Japan's healthcare system is world-class and highly accessible.

This program is focused on development, not scouting. Under FIFA regulations, international transfers of minors are heavily restricted, so scouting during a short-term program is not realistic. Our Premium program includes an individual skill assessment report so your child knows their current level and what to work on — but the goal is growth, not recruitment.

All programs include: accommodation (hotel or homestay), training sessions, airport transfers, J-League match tickets (when available), cultural activities, and English-speaking support. Details vary by program — contact us for a full breakdown. International flights are not included.

Yes. We can arrange halal meals, vegetarian options, and allergy-specific menus. Please let us know your requirements during the application process.

Is this a soccer study abroad program or a football academy? +

It's best described as a soccer study abroad experience with football academy-level training. You have the opportunity to join training sessions with Japanese youth clubs and receive coaching at the same level as local football academies, while immersing yourself in Japanese culture, language, and daily life. It's designed for international youth players who want more than just a football camp — they want a genuine cross-cultural development experience in one of the world's top football nations.
